These Terms apply to all visitors, users, newsletter subscribers, and service providers who access or use ExpatSetup.nl.

• “User” refers to any individual who accesses or uses the Platform, including expats seeking information and services.
• “Provider” refers to a service provider (e.g., tax advisor, insurance broker) who lists their business on the Platform through a paid subscription.
• “Content” refers to all text, calculations, data, guides, tools, and other materials available on the Platform.

ExpatSetup.nl provides:

• Interactive calculators for salary, tax, 30% ruling, cost of living, and health insurance comparisons
• Informational guides about Dutch tax, insurance, housing, and administrative processes
• A directory of service providers for expats in the Netherlands
• A quote request system connecting users with providers
• A newsletter with expat-related tips and updates

Our calculators produce estimates based on publicly available tax rates and rules. Results may vary from your actual situation due to individual circumstances, changes in legislation, or other factors.

Our guides provide general information about Dutch processes and regulations. They are not a substitute for professional advice tailored to your specific situation.

When you submit a quote request through our Platform:

• Your contact details and message will be shared with the provider(s) you selected or matched with
• ExpatSetup.nl is not a party to any agreement between you and a service provider
• We do not guarantee the quality, legality, or suitability of any provider's services
• Any disputes between you and a provider are to be resolved directly between the parties involved

9. Newsletter

By subscribing to our newsletter, you consent to receiving periodic emails with expat-related tips, tax updates, and product news. We use a double opt-in process — you will receive a confirmation email and must click the confirmation link before receiving newsletters. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of every email.

All content on ExpatSetup.nl — including text, guides, calculator logic, design, logos, and code — is the intellectual property of ExpatSetup.nl or its licensors, unless otherwise stated.

You may:

• Use our calculators and read our content for personal, non-commercial purposes
• Share links to our pages on social media or other platforms

You may not:

• Reproduce, modify, or distribute our content without written permission
• Embed our calculators or tools on other websites without permission
• Use our content for commercial purposes without a licensing agreement

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch law:

• ExpatSetup.nl is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
• We do not guarantee that calculator results are error-free or that the Platform will be available without interruption
• We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Platform, including financial losses resulting from reliance on calculator estimates or guide content
• We are not responsible for the actions, services, or content of third-party service providers listed in our directory
• Our total liability for any claim arising from use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (or €100, whichever is greater)

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless ExpatSetup.nl and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

Our Platform may contain links to external websites and third-party services (e.g., Stripe for payments, provider websites). We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of these external sites. Accessing third-party links is at your own risk.

14. Affiliate disclosure

Some links on ExpatSetup.nl may be affiliate links. This means we may earn a commission if you sign up for a service through our link, at no additional cost to you. Affiliate relationships do not influence our editorial content, calculator results, or recommendations. We only partner with services we believe are genuinely useful for expats.

15. Modifications to these Terms

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. For Provider accounts, material changes to subscription terms will be communicated via email at least 30 days in advance. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

16. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if you violate these Terms. Providers may cancel their subscription at any time through their dashboard or by contacting us. Upon cancellation, your listing will remain active until the end of the current billing period.

17. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms or the use of the Platform shall be submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands. This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights you may have under the laws of your country of residence within the EU.

18. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
